Michelle Kaminski

Wurf Fellow

KaminskiMichelle Kaminski Ph.D. is a Wurf Fellow in the Labor and Worklife Program at the Harvard Law School and an Associate Professor of Labor and Industrial Relations at Michigan State University. She has conducted workshops for union members and leaders for over 15 years on a variety of topics, including steward’s training, communication skills, union leadership, increasing member involvement in your local union, basic economics, and the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA). She has a special focus on women’s union leadership. She is editor of the Labor Studies Journal, and has published a number of books and articles. She has served on the Executive Board and as University Vice-President of the United Association for Labor Education. Previously, she was a bargaining unit chair with the Washington-Baltimore Newspaper Guild Local 35, now part of CWA.
