2008 Latin America - United States Symposium at Harvard Law School, June 13-15, 2008 Maria Helena Santana, Chairperson, Comissão de Valores Mobiliários, Brazil and Brian O’Neill, Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Western Hemisphere, United States Department of the Treasury, will deliver keynote addresses at the inagural Latin America - U.S. Symposium in June 2008. Professor Hal Scott, the Nomura Professor of International Financial Systems at Harvard Law School, will introduce Ms. Santana and Merilee Grindle, Edward S Mason Professor of International Development at the Kennedy School of Government; Director of the David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies will introduce Mr. O’Neilll. Héctor Medina, Executive Vice President of Planning and Finance, CEMEX, Mexico will deliver a luncheon keynote address andGuillermo Babatz Torres, President, Comisión Nacional Bancaria y de Valores, Mexico will be the keynote speaker on Saturday evening, June 14th. | The Japan Society and PIFS co-hosted a panel discussion in New York city on Friday February 1st, 2008 entitled Enforcement in the U.S. & Japan, with Lessons from the UK. Professor Scott moderated the Socratic dialogue. Professor Scott's report on the socratic pannel is now available. | ||
