Abstract
David Lee is a fourth year associate based in the New York office of the law firm Solomon & Myer. David has an intense and exciting job. He is good at what he does and enjoys his work. But he struggles to manage the many demands on his time and attention, while maintaining high quality work and continuing to learn. Even as he is working hard in the professional sphere, he wonders if he might be neglecting family and personal interests. David wonders if the issues he faces will resolve on their own, or if he needs to take some steps to address them.

Learning Objectives
The case allows participants to reflect on the various constituencies and concerns that a mid-level associate in a professional service firm (PSF) must consider in deciding how to allocate their time and attention. It encourages participants to enquire how a young professional might manage proactively all of the demands on their time in a thoughtful and effective manner.
