General Interest: East Asian Legal Studies informal meeting with Burmese dissident Khin Zaw Win

EALS will host an informal meeting with Burmese dissident Khin Zaw Win on Tuesday, November 13 beginning at 12 noon in the EALS conference room, Pound 419.

Khin Zaw Win, a dentist and pro-democracy activist, was released from prison in 2005 after serving ten years of a fifteen-year sentence handed down for his criticisms of the military government. He will speak briefly on Burmas Legal and Judicial System: Views of a Burmese Citizen and Prisoner of Conscience.
