Summer 2008 Housing Application
We are pleased to announce that we will be once again offering summer housing in Dane Hall to HLS students and other Harvard University Affiliates. There is limited availability, so online application submissions will be processed on a first come, first serve basis.
Rooms are furnished and include local phone service. Summer residents must provide their own telephone, bedding, etc. For a description of the building see Dane Hall Description.
Dates
Dormitory rooms will be available in Dane Hall for summer housing from Monday, June 9, 2008 through Monday, August 4, 2008. Graduating students currently living in the HLS dormitories will be permitted to stay in their current room through the weekend and will be required to move to their new room in Dane on Monday, June 9, 2008. We may be able to accommodate students who are not graduating requesting housing for the transition period between Friday, May 16, 2007 and June 10, 2007, but this cannot be guaranteed and may require a temporary assignment elsewhere in the Gropius complex until summer housing is available in Dane Hall. All summer dormitory rooms must be vacated by Monday, August 4, 2008.
Eligibility
Only current Harvard Law School students, members of the class of 2008 preparing for the Bar, or those affiliated with Harvard University (verification required) are eligible for summer housing. Harvard Law School students receive first priority.
Cost
Cost per night varies depending on the room size: $35 per night for a Dane Type 1 and $40 per night for a Dane Type 2. Full payment in the form of a check or money order (made out to Harvard Law School) must be received by Becky Andreasson in the Facilities Management Office by the date specified in the confirmation email.
Cancellations
If you no longer need summer housing (whether you have received a room assignment, confirmed a room or been placed on the waitlist) please email hlsdorms@law. There is no cancellation penalty; however, we would like to know as soon as you are aware, so that we can offer your room to a student on the waitlist.
Waitlist
If no rooms are available at the time of your application, you will be notfied by email of being placed on the waitlist. Should a room become available, it will be offered via email to the first student on the waitlist and will have two days to accept or reject the room.
If you have any questions or concerns, please email us at hlsdorms@law.
