Advocates for Education
Welcome Class of 2009!
Advocates for Education (A4E) is a student organization that brings together educators, policymakers, scholars, and advocates to raise awareness about, and contribute to a greater understanding of issues in public education law and policy.
A4E has the following activities and initiatives planned for the 2006-07 academic year:
- Litigation Support: A4E students will have the opportunity to assist a
national education non-profit organization with their litigation efforts
- Brown-Bag Series: A4E will host a series of brown-bag lunches to
discuss current issues in education. Students will be able to meet faculty members
and others working in education law and policy
- Community Outreach: We will visit innovative schools in the Boston area
to meet with principals and discuss successful education models. Students can also
be trained to give workshops on special education law to parents
- Speaker Series: A4E will continue its tradition of bringing education
reform leaders, principals, and policy makers to the Law School through our
speaker series. Past speakers include Dr. Rod Paige, former U.S. Secretary of
Education and Dr. Betty Sternberg, Ct. Commissioner of Education
- Career Advising: A4E will hold several informal sessions on how to
pursue a career in education law and policy. Students will interact with other
students who have worked in education law as well as Wasserstein Fellows and recent
graduates
A4E welcomes all students with any interest in education to come to our events and meetings. Please contact us for more information.
