Thank you for your interest in direct advocacy opportunities in Human Rights. Through our organization, 1Ls participate in clinical projects as early as their first semester. A mandatory training is required. This year’s training will be on Saturday, 26 September.
Harvard Law School Advocates for Human Rights is a student organization that seeks to foster a community of law students dedicated to human rights issues, regardless of those students’ intended career paths.
Advocates collaborates with the Human Rights Program’s International Human Rights Clinic to give law students hands-on clinical experience from the first year onward, assisting human rights groups and other NGOs all over the world. Our members have worked in Sudan, Thailand, Guatemala, and the United States—among other countries—to address issues like illegal detention, refugee rights, and human trafficking. More information...
