Inter-APALSA Semi-Formal Cruise!
November 3, 2007
APALSA and SALSA members from HLS joined APALSA members from BU, BC, NE, and Yale, and boarded the Majestic Princess for the Kramer Levin Inter-APALSA Semi-Formal Cruise around Boston Harbor. Hor Doeuvrs, desserts, bar service, and a DJ kept the party going and APALSA members from across the region got the chance to get to know one another.
Dim Sum Outing!
September 15th 2007
APALSA members took a trip to Chinatown for dim sum! The dim sum event coincided with HLS's Fall Fest, a day of volunteering by HLS students on various projects around the city. An APALSA contingent spent the morning cleaning a local park before joining the rest of APALSA for dim sum. It was a great way to meet sib faily members and enjoy delicious food!

Conference on Law & Public Policy.
We need lots of volunteers on the actual days of the conference (March 2nd and 3rd) for registration and other logistics.
HLS volunteers will receive FREE ADMISSION for both days. This package includes an all-star line-up

APALSA Annual Ski Trip
Friday, February 2nd - Sunday, February 4th - Loon Mountain, NH
Please save the dates and join us for one of our great traditions.
We are providing one-night (Saturday night) and two-night (Friday and Saturday nights) options.
Ski Trip XLI will be subsidized, and we are still working out final cost breakdowns,
but your cost will probably be in the range of $20-40, including transportation and accommodation at Loon Mountain,
plus some meals. Lift tickets and equipment rentals will be additional, but at a discounted group rate.

APALSA Boat Cruise

We welcome you to the First Annual Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel Boston
Inter-APALSA Reception and Semi-Formal!
The party takes place on the 91-foot APALSA Yacht, with an ice
sculpture and free drinks to toast Kramer Levin's commitment to diversity,
and your friends from the other Boston law schools. It's the night before the Harvard-Yale game,
and the perfect way to kick off the sixth Harvard victory in a row.
The cost is only $15 - and you MUST be a dues-paying member to attend, so $30
gets non-members both official membership and a ticket. For non-HLS guests,
tickets are also $30. Included in the price is roundtrip bus transportation
from HLS campus (boarding the bus at 7:20pm).

HLS Minority Bone Marrow Registration Drive

APALSA is co-sponsoring the HLS Minority Bone Marrow Registration Drive with
La Alianza, BLSA, SALSA, APALSA, and NALSA to get the HLS
community involved in the important work of saving lives.
This event is part of a Harvard University-wide (HBS, HMS, KSG, HGSE, HSPH, and the College) campaign to improve minority
representation in national bone marrow registries. Minorities are presently
grossly underrepresented in national marrow registries.

Defend Asian American Voting Rights 2006 - AALAM
Please see below for a unique pro-bono opportunity - poll monitoring in
Boston on Election Day (11/7) to ensure compliance with the Voting Rights
Act. I hope you will consider volunteering your time for the training
session (10/18) and monitoring. The Asian American Lawyers Association of
Massachusetts (AALAM) is co-sponsoring this with the Asian American Legal
and Education Defense Fund (AALDEF).

2006 APALSA Retreat
Saturday, September 9th - Cape Cod, MA
We are excited to announce that APALSA's 1st annual retreat, sponsored by Orrick,
Herrington & Sutcliffe, LLP.
APALSA will provide transportation to and from Cape Cod, breakfast, lunch, and a traditional New England
lobster and clambake dinner on the beach. We are also planning several activities for the day (e.g., hiking,
boating, frisbee). This will be a great opportunity to visit Cape Cod and to get to know your (fellow) 1Ls
and other APALSA members.
Thanks to Orrick's generosity, APALSA will be able to subsidize most of the costs of the retreat - you
will only have to pay $20.
