Dear Students,
Welcome to the Couples Association of Harvard Law School! The Harvard Law Couples Association (HCLA) is a social organization for students, their partners and/or their children. Our organization offers many activities over the course of the year to encourage social interaction and provide support for those students who have come to Harvard with partners or families. HLCA has enhanced the law school experience for hundreds of students and non-student partners.
Some of the HLCA activities we have had in the past include apple picking trips, dinner parties, canoeing, inter-mural sports (partners welcome!), trips to the theater/ballet, and picnics. For those with children, we have a Children's Club that coordinates monthly play groups in addition to hosting a Halloween party and a spring egg hunt. Our Women's Group holds activities such as gourmet dessert parties, chick flick nights, dinners out, white elephant holiday parties and more. We have even more exciting activities planned for this upcoming year and hope that you will be able to attend!
We also have a number of vacant positions on the HLCA 2009-2010 Steering Committee.
Please e-mail me to get more details about steering committee positions, join our mailing list, or with any questions about HLCA.
Sincerely,
Jamie Samuels

Vacant Steering Committee Job Descriptions:
Vice President: Organizes Holiday Party, Runs Bi-weekly Steering Committee meeting when president unavailable, and assists president as needed.
Treasurer: Processes reimbursements and hands into Student Services office. Monitors club expenses, and fills out funding request at end of year. This is the best position for a student who would like to be involved, but cannot give a lot of time. You are on campus all of the time anyway!
Men's Club: Organize activities for all of the men in the club when their significant others are crazy busy with school work, or when their significant others are at the Women's Club events! Some activities of the past include kayaking, Celtics Games, and pub nights.
PR Officer: Assists in advertising HLCA and HLCA sponsored events.
Editor: Another great position for a student or someone who cannot dedicate much time, but would like to be involved. This position is a perfect fit for a Boston native, a 3L, or 3L partner. Your job is to review and update the Boston 101 information on our website. No webmaster skills needed!
Please feel free to contact Jamie Samuels for more information or to nominate someone for one of these positions.
