The Harvard Law School Men's Crew Team is an athletic organization for men who wish to practice and compete in sweep rowing. In the fall season we race at the Head of the Charles Regatta, one of the world's premier rowing events which draws as many as 5,000 participants and a quarter of a million spectators. Depending on rower availability, we have in the past attended other head races to prepare for the Charles. In the spring, we participate in the annual Graduate School Regatta, a fun 1500-meter sprint race. The Charles River is one of the busiest, as well as one of the most scenic, rowing venues, and a "pick-up" race can always be found!
During the fall and spring semesters, members work out three to five times per week on the Charles River. Workouts are usually scheduled for mornings throughout the week, though afternoons are scheduled whenever possible (often Fridays).
Crew is the consummate non-legal activity - a great outlet for students who wish to take a break from the books, make new friendships, increase physical strength and stamina, and partake in the camaraderie and competition of one of the University's oldest sports.
All experienced rowers and coxswains are welcome. To get involved, come to the team meeting scheduled in the early fall - check MyHLS for details. HLS Men's Crew is limited only by student interest.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are eager to make your acquaintance and get you on the water!
