20 YEARS IN HUMAN RIGHTS

The Harvard Human Rights Journal conference celebrating its 20th anniversary

Held March 10, 2007

This conference was designed to coincide with the 20th anniversary edition of the Harvard Human Rights Journal, published Spring 2007. The aim of the conference was to evaluate the progress of the human rights movement over the past 20 years, with a more specific focus on the evolution of human rights institutions. A series of panel discussions were arranged, led by the foremost scholars and activists in the field, and focusing on the development of human rights NGOs and international tribunals over the past twenty years. The conference also examined the growth of human rights as a substantive area of law taught in today’s law schools.
