About Us
Our Mission
One Day’s Work grows from the recognition that many law students, who for a variety of reasons choose to work at big law firms, desire to use their unique education and social position to support the worthwhile causes we believe in. Starting at the first stage of our careers – the summer associate clerkship during law school – we want to create a community where we help foster a culture of giving, which will hopefully follow us throughout our careers. The idea is to give the wages earned during one day at a summer law position to an individually chosen charity. While we celebrate the end result of having raised an amount of money for various causes, the goal that really motivates the organization is facilitating the dedication of as many students as possible to give. It’s the decision to give that matters. We do not advocate any specific charitable cause or organization, and hope this can be a forum for students of all interests and persuasions to find an avenue for giving. We make every effort to assure the dependability and fiscal responsibility of all the charities with which we associate so that the money is efficiently and effectively used.
