Gujarat Film Screening ("Final Solution")
********************************************

This is a reminder that SALSA is co-sponsoring a film screening and discussion of the documentary "Final Solution" by Indian Filmmaker, Rakesh Sharma TONIGHT at 7PM in Pound 335. Refreshments will be served.

"Final Solution is a study of the politics of hate. Set in Gujarat during the period Feb/March 2002 - July 2003, the film graphically documents the changing face of right-wing politics in India through a study of the 2002 genocide of Moslems in Gujarat. It specifically examines political tendencies reminiscent of the Nazi Germany of early/mid-1930s. Final Solution is anti-hate/ violence as "those who forget history are condemned to relive it"."

See: http://www.rakeshfilm.com/finalsolution.htm

The first hour of the film will be screened, followed by an intermission discussion with local community members who are active on the subject. We will also discuss current clinical work seeking accountability and redress for the 2002 massacres. The remaining 1h20min will be played following the discussion. Refreshments will be served.

The screening is co-sponsored by the Human Rights Program and South Asian Law Students Association (SALSA).
