Welcome to the
Harvard South Asian Law Students Association!
Dear Incoming 1Ls,
On behalf of the South Asian Law Students Association (SALSA), we would like to welcome you to Harvard Law School. We are so excited to have you on campus!
SALSA provides a forum for students in the Harvard Law School community who are interested in South Asian-American and South Asian legal issues. It also endeavors to promote South Asian culture to the law school community at large through a variety of social and academic events, including networking events, panels, lectures, and cultural celebrations. Furthermore, SALSA aims to connect students with employers interested in diversity outreach.
As incoming 1Ls, you may naturally have lots of questions running through your head, just like many of us did when we first started. We here at SALSA are a fun, diverse body of students with varying interests and personalities, and we encourage you to reach out to us with any questions and concerns. We’d be happy to set you up with a mentor that helps you ease your way into a great first year.
In the near future, you will be receiving information about our first event, a meet-and-greet happy hour where you can meet all of us as well as your fellow 1Ls. We hope to see you there! And once again, welcome to HLS. We at SALSA love it here, and we know you will too.
Yours truly,
The 2009-2010 SALSA Board
