About HLS SALSA

Sponsoring events ranging from mango lassi parties to political discussions, the South Asian Law Students Association (SALSA) was formed with the aim of promoting an understanding and appreciation of South Asian political, legal, and social issues.

In the past, we have screened films pertaining to South Asian history, coordinated social events with South Asian students at the other Harvard graduate schools, put on cultural shows, and hosted South Asian dinners.

We also co-sponsored a conference with the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association (APALSA) and other groups which helped bring to campus Preeta Bansal (U.S.D.O.J.) and South Asian partners at prominent N.Y. law firms.

We strive to build multicultural community at HLS by coordinating political and cultural events with other cultural affinity groups.

Open to all students, SALSA encourages anyone with an interest in South Asia to join.
