Scales of Justice History
Scales of Justice was founded in October 1991 by Ellen Chubin
'93 and Gail Javitt '93 (sopranos). Many of the founding members were
in the HLS Drama Society's production of Guys and Dolls at the time.
The motto was "Because justice is blind... not deaf." Then-Dean Bob
Clark was the faculty advisor. In 2006-2007 and 2007-2008 Scales continued its appearances at
the Public Interest Auction, raising $2,000 on each occasion, as well
as continuing the tradition of donating Spring Concert proceeds to
charity. Details can be seen in the concert summaries on the
"Repertoire" page. Scales members are listed here. More Scales of Justice history is available on our alumni page. Thanks to Sasha Volokh '02 (Scales member 1999-2002) for helping to collect this information. |
