HLS TaxHelp
Training for the 2008 filing season is now over. The training powerpoint is available here and includes links and login information. If you did not attend training, you will not be able to volunteer this season, but we hope you will join us next year.
HLS TaxHelp provides low-income, elderly, and handicapped residents in Boston, Cambridge, and Somerville with free, confidential tax assistance in preparing state and federal tax returns. Volunteers receive all the necessary training in a one-day session early in the spring semester. Volunteers need not have math ability or tax expertise.
We encourage you to volunteer - helping these taxpayers is very rewarding, and clients tend to be really appreciative. Assistance is provided on a scheduled basis from the middle of February through April 15 at the Central Square Library. HLS TaxHelp performs this community service project in conjunction with the Internal Revenue Services's Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program, as well as the HLS Pro Bono program (all volunteer hours count toward the pro bono requirement). We hope you will remember HLS TaxHelp in the spring.
